JobStart Chautauqua offers small loans to help low-income 
families stay employed when they are faced with unexpected 
car expenses, including purchase loans, repairs, and insurance.
All loans made through JobStart Chautauqua must be tied to employment needs
and your family must include a child under 18.
JobStart funds are a loan.  They DO have to be REPAID.

Loans through the JobStart Chautauqua are available to low-income families 
that cannot qualify for a loan through a bank or other traditional source.
Please read the following guidelines to see if you are eligible for assistance through JobStart Chautauqua.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

1.  You must be a resident of Chautauqua County.

2.  You must currently be working at least 30 hours per week and you must 
      have been at your current job for at least 3 months.

3.  You must have a child under 18 that lives with you or for whom you are 
      financially responsible.

4.  You must meet the following income guidelines:
 

Maximum gross income for a family of one: $20,800
Maximum gross income for a family of two: $28,000
Maximum gross income for a family of three: $35,200
Maximum gross income for a family of four: $42,400
Maximum gross income for a family of five: $49,600
Maximum gross income for a family of six: $56,800
Maximum gross income for a family of seven: $64,000
Maximum gross income for a family of eight: $71,200

5.  A review of your income and expenses by our loan committe must show 
     that you are not eligible for a loan through a bank or other traditional 
     source but that you do have the means to repay the loan.

6.  If you are currently receiving assistance through any agency, you must have 
     a referral from your case worker.

WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO QUALIFY FOR A LOAN?

1.  You must attend a Financial Literacy class that will help you understand 
      budgeting, credit, and managing your finances.

2.  You must complete the full application process showing that you meet 
      the eligibility guidelines described above.

WHAT IS THE INTEREST AND REPAYMENT?

1.  The interest rate on the loan is 8%

2.  The repayment period will be determined by reviewing your income and 
     expenses and finding a monthly payment that you will be able to repay. 
     All loans must be repaid in full. The maximum repayment period is 
     36 months.
